Cerebral palsy is the most common cause of physical disability in children and young people in the developed world, with a prevalence of around 2 to 2.5 per 1,000

There are three basic types of disorder; spasticity, chloreothetosis and ataxia. The proportions of cases of cerebral palsy with each type are approximately 70%, 10% and 10% respectively. About 10% of cases have a mixed cerebral palsy where they exhibit components of more than one of the different types.
