Hearing loss (sensorineural, acquired)
Acquired causes of sensorineural hearing may be prenatal or postnatal in action and include:
- infective
- neoplastic - acoustic neuroma
- trauma
- metabolic
- autoimmune
- toxic
- degenerative
- Meniere's disease
- brainstem lesion - vascular disease of the internal auditory artery - rarely seen
