Mollaret's meningitis
Mollaret in 1944 was the first to describe a meningitic syndrome characterised by recurrent febrile episodes of 2-4 days duration with simultaneous headache, neck stiffness and myalgia.
The cause is unknown.
The CSF shows a mononuclear pleocytosis with initially large and fragile endothelial cells.
