Twelfth thoracic sympathetic ganglion (anatomy)

The twelfth thoracic sympathetic ganglia are the most inferior of the twelve ganglia within the sympathetic trunks on either side of the spinal column. They are continuous with the eleventh ganglia superiorly and the first lumbar ganglia inferiorly.

The latter connection descends between the thorax and abdomen posterior to the medial arcuate ligament of the diaphragm but anterior to the psoas fascia.
