Aetiology
Mostly these presentations occur in a multip with a lax uterus and abdomen.
Other possible causes include:-
- prematurity
- contracted pelvis
- praevia
- polyhydramnios
- intrauterine fetal death
- twins - very rare for both twins to be transverse lie unless conjoined
- foetal abnormality
