Classification
Trophoblastic disease may be broadly classified as:
- metastatic normal trophoblast - normal trophoblast which may invade and spread beyond the endometrium but does not persist at these sites
- benign hydatidiform mole:
- complete / classical
- incomplete / partial
- malignant hydatidiform mole / invasive mole
- choriocarcinoma:
- non-metastatic
- metastatic
