Each presacral vertebra has a bony pedicle attached posterolaterally on either side of the midline. They are continuous with the lamina extending posteriorly around the vertebral arch.

Relations:

  • anterior: vertebral body
  • posterior: junction of lamina and transverse process
  • superior: small superior vertebral notch
  • inferior: larger inferior vertebral notch
  • lateral: costal facet(s)
  • medial: vertebral foramen
