    • children generally recover between days to three weeks after the bite
    • adults recovery time is longer - generally three weeks or more. About one quarter of adults take between one and nine months to recover following the adder bite

During the recovery period the "victim" may suffer disabling ache and intermittent swelling of the bitten limb.
