Gastrointestinal pain
Colic may be reduced by antispasmodics such as:
- hyoscine hydrobromide or butylbromide (Buscopan)
- peppermint oil
- mebeverine
Intestinal obstruction, vomiting and colic can be treated with antiemetics.
Gastric distension pain may be helped by:
- antacids incorporating an antiflatulent, such as Asilone
- Domperidone 10mg three times daily before meals
