Approximately 4-7 million individuals are affected in the world and account for 7% to 15% of patients on renal replacement therapy (1)

It accounts for about 10% of people on dialysis. Annual incidence rates of end-stage kidney disease (ESKD) caused by ADPKD are between 6-8 per million per year in Europe (2)

Females are more likely to be diagnosed during early adulthood than males, possibly due to the use of abdominal ultrasound during pregnancy (3)
