Short stenoses on angiography

Authoring team

Your patient has lifestyle-limiting claudication with short stenoses on angiography.

Risk factors should be modified, however further treatment depends on the site of the lesions:

  • the initial treatment for lesions below the inguinal ligament is balloon angioplasty
    • if the subsequent flow is inadequate an endovascular stent should be placed
  • aortoiliac lesions are treated by placement of an endovascular stent
