  • this is difficult to estimate because other drug therapy (especially corticosteroids) and co-morbid conditions may contribute to the development of hypertension. Prevalence rates for different patient groups treated with cyclosporin are presented:

  • in transplant patients treated with cyclosporin - hypertension is reported in between 30 and 100%

  • in patients who have other conditions that do not generally have other conditions likely to cause hypertension such as autoimmune disorders - 25-60% of these patients with have hypertension during cyclosporin treatment
