    • anteriorly, laterally, posteriorly: costodiaphragmatic recess, body wall
    • medially: central tendon of diaphragm and fibrous pericardium
    • superiorly: diaphragmatic pleura
    • inferiorly: peritoneal ligaments and bare area of liver
  • central part of central tendon:
    • anteriorly: posteroinferior surface of sternal body
    • laterally: extensions of central tendon
    • posteriorly: oesophageal and aortic hiatus
    • inferiorly: left lobe of liver and peritoneal reflections
    • superiorly: fibrous pericardium
  • left dome and left side of central tendon:
    • anteriorly, laterally and posteriorly: costodiaphragmatic recess and body wall
    • medially: central tendon of diaphragm and fibrous pericardium
    • superiorly: diaphragmatic parietal pleura
    • inferiorly: spleen and stomach
