Riedel's lobe

Riedel's lobe is a projection of the liver from the inferior surface of the right lobe. It is a normal anatomical variant.

The lobe may be quite large, sometimes extending into the right iliac fossa, and so, may be mistaken for pathological enlargement of the liver.
