Authoring team

Yeasts are normal inhabitants of the bowel but occasionally they may cause a skin reaction.

Diagnosis is based on clinical findings and analysis of a swab from the area of the lesion.

Treatment is based on careful washing (with saline solution), careful drying and application of clotrimazole cream.
