Corpora cavernosa (venous leakage)

Authoring team

Venous leaks of the corpora cavernosa may be a cause of erectile failure.

Surgical ligation of venous leaks in corpora cavernosa has been successfully employed. Also penile revascularisation has been possible in a few selected patients.

Both inflatable and semi-rigid penile prostheses have a high success rate but are used as last resort as they destroy the erectile tissue.
