Drugs excreted by the kidney should be given with caution in renal failure. They include - although this is not an exhaustive list:
- antibiotics:
- penicillins
- cephalosporins
- aminoglycosides
- tetracycline
- beta blockers
- diuretics
- lithium
- digoxin
- procainamide
- cimetidine
- ranitidine
