Maloprim is used in the prophylaxis of Falciparum malaria.

The usual adult dose is 12.5 mg pyrimethamine with 100 mg dapsone once per week.

Maloprim is contraindicated in the first-trimester of pregnancy. If maloprim is prescribed in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy then folate supplements should be given.
