The use of non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) may result in NSAID-associated reactive gastritis or peptic ulceration.
Previously NSAID-associated gastritis would have been classified as a Type C gastritis (chemical gastritis). This condition is characterised by the production of erosions and small intramucosal haemorrhages (which are most numerous in the gastric antrum).
