Central pontine myelinolysis (CPM) is a rare demyelinating condition of the pons affecting:

  • long tract fibres
  • pontocerebellar fibres
  • pontine nuclei

CPM is associated with:

  • chronic alcoholism
  • over-rapid correction of hyponatraemia

There is no treatment.
