The management of myopathy depends on the cause.

No treatment exists for inherited myopathies and therefore genetic counselling assumes a high priority.

If the myopathy is due to toxic or metabolic causes then removal of the drug or toxin, or correction of the metabolic defect, may result in rapid clinical improvement.
