  • the COC may induce a wide variety of endometrial changes - a common reaction is a discordance between glandular and stromal tissues - the stromal reaction reminiscent of the decidua of pregnancy.
  • when the COC is discontinued then the endometrium reverts to normal.
  • endometrial changes associated with the COC have been minimised with the newer low-dose contraceptives
