Neoplasms of the chest wall may be benign or malignant. They may be primary or metastatic, or may be the result of direct invasion of the chest wall from either a bronchogenic or a breast neoplasm. They may be in the sternum, the ribs or the diaphragm. They are not uncommon. Primary tumours in the chest account for abour 8% of all intrinsic bone tumours.
