The treatment of neurosyphilis is with procaine penicillin 900-1200 mg/day i.m. for 21 days.
Again, caution should be taken over the possiblity of a severe Jarisch-Herxheimer reaction for which prednisolone may be given.
CSF examination should be repeated after treatment and patients should be followed up for life.
