The following blood tests should be performed on a patient with angina:

  • fasting blood glucose
  • fasting lipid profile - which includes total cholesterol (TC), high density lipoprotein (HDL) and low density lipoprotein (LDL) and triglycerides (1)
  • full blood count
  • serum creatinine - to evaluate renal function
  • electrolytes
  • thyroid functions tests
