Congenital tricuspid atresia

Last reviewed dd mmm yyyy. Last edited dd mmm yyyy

Authoring team

With tricuspid atresia there is no flow between the right atrium and ventricle. The entire systemic venous return enters the left heart via the foramen ovale. The pulmonary circulation is perfused via the ductus arteriosus and/or ventricular septal defects. If the ventricular septum is intact the right ventricle is hypoplastic and pulmonary atresia is present.
