    • most superior point - the apex - of the axilla
    • medial to axillary vein and artery
    • deep to pectoralis minor
  • receives lymph from all the other axillary lymphatic nodes
  • efferent lymphatics pass:
    • deep to the clavicle to form the subclavian lymphatic trunk
    • to the supraclavicular nodes
