The bronchial lymph nodes are the small nodes formed from the convergence of deep lymphatics vessels from the pulmonary nodes within individual lobes.

They are concentrated around the 'apex' of each bronchial lobe at the site of emergence of each lobar bronchus. They pass efferent lymph vessels laterally to converge on the tracheobronchial nodes.

The bronchial nodes and tracheobronchial nodes are the groups which are frequently enlarged in pathology of the lung; together, they constitute the hilar nodes which may be visible radiographically as classical hilar lymphadenopathy.
