Misoprostol should not be used routinely in all patients who are undertaking non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs but only in those whose gastric ulceration is a known complication, and in whom, the NSAIDs cannot be stopped.

Dose: 200 micrograms 2-4 times per day
