  • prematurity
  • multiple pregnancy
  • foetal anomaly e.g. spina bifida, hydrocephalic fetus
  • uterine and pelvic anomaly e.g. bicornate uterus, fibroid uterus
  • previous breech - 14% recurrence
  • polyhydramnios and oligohydramnios
  • intrauterine fetal death
  • praevia
