The presentation of a meniscal cyst is with a small lump that is usually situated on the lateral side of the joint. There is often a history of injury to the knee joint.
On examination, the lump may feel 'bony hard' and there is localised tenderness over it. Cysts restrict the mobility of the meniscus.
