Pectoralis major absence

Pectoralis major may fail to develop on one side of the chest. Typically, just the sternocostal part may be absent. Functionally, there is no disability as other muscles take over.

Clinically on the affected side, the anterior axillary fold may be absent and the nipple may be sited more inferiorly that usual.
