  • septicaemia with associated disseminated intravascular coagulation, for example caused by gram-negative bacilli, staphylococcus aureus, pneumococcus, meningococcus, mycoplasma, psittacosis (1)

In addition:

  • malaria
  • leptospirosis

  • dengue haemorrhagic fever
  • Hantaan virus
