Referral criteria from primary care - Crohns disease

The following patients should be referred from primary care without a delay:

  • patient with abdominal pain and diarrhoea associated with weight loss, iron deficiency or raised inflammatory markers, especially if diarrhea is nocturnal
  • patients with an established diagnosis of Crohn's disease who have considerable change in symptoms (1)
