Indications:

  • Strongyloidiasis
  • adjunct in hookworm, whipworm or roundworm treatment
  • Dracontiasis
  • cutaneous and visceral larva migrans
  • secondary treatment for threadworm when mixed with above infections
  • Trichinosis

Cautions:

  • hepatic or renal impairment
  • discontinue if hypersensitivity reactions occur

Contra-indications:

  • pregnancy

Side-effects:

  • anorexia
  • nausea and vomiting
  • dizziness
  • diarrhoea
  • headache
  • pruritus
  • drowsiness
  • hypersensitivity reactions including fever, chills, angioedema, rashes and erythema multiforme
  • rarely: tinitus, collapse, parenchymal liver disease
