Lymphatics

The lymphatics of the heart first accumulate as subendocardial and subepicardial plexuses. These merge and form efferent vessels which travel through the heart around coronary arteries. Further convergence produces larger channels that emerge from the fibrous pericardium near to the roots of the great vessels.

The lymphatics drain to tracheobronchial and mediastinal nodes.
