This is an erythromycin derivative with greater activity.

Indications:

  • respiratory tract infections
  • skin and soft tissue infections

Cautions:

  • hepatic impairment
  • reduced dose in renal impairment

Side-effects:

  • diarrhoea
  • cholestatic jaundice if give for more than 14 days
  • nausea and vomiting

Routes of administration:

  • oral; þ tablets
