This is a cestode that inhabits the intestinal lumens of humans. The human is the definitive host of Taenia solium, and the pig is the usual intermediate host. Note though that humans, cats, dogs and sheep may harbour the larval form. Cysticerosis is the term used to describe the situation when the larval form invades human tissues.
