Littre's hernia is any hernia with a Meckel diverticulum in the hernial sac. Their distribution is:
Littre's inguinal and femoral hernia are more common in men, and on the right side. There is pain, fever, and manifestations of small bowel obstruction.
Treatment is by repair of the hernia, and excision of the diverticulum if possible. If acute Meckel's diverticulitis is present, the acute inflammatory mass may have to be treated through a separate abdominal incision.
