The sedative antihistamines were the first to be developed, and it is important here to warn the patient of the potential effects on driving and the use of skilled machinery, particularly in combination with excess alcohol consumption.

A list of the sedative antihistamines is probably beyond the scope of this program, and a source such as the British National Formulary should be used if these preparations are being considered.
