Inflammatory arthropathies

Authoring team

These may be loosely organised into those that tend to be seropositive or seronegative for rheumatoid factor. This is a slightly artificial division however, as cases of rheumatoid arthritis may be seronegative and cases of psoriatic arthritis or other "seronegative" arthropathy may be seropositive.

This distinction does however help to group certain conditions together, which share some clinical features and may occasionally occur simultaneously ie the seronegative arhtropathies.
