The blind spot is a small area lateral to the centre of the visual field where there is no vision perception. It corresponds to the area where the optic disc is seen on fundoscopy i.e. the point where the optic nerve joins the retina.

An enlarged blind spot is a feature of optic head enlargement e.g. papilloedema.
