Premature ventricular depolarisations during exercise

Exercise tests may sometimes reveal premature ventricular depolarisations. These are considered to be frequent if there are two or more consecutive runs or if they make up more than 10% of all ventricular depolarisations on a 30 second ECG.

A Study by Jouven et al has revealed that after 23 years follow up, men with frequent PVD's have an increased risk of death from cardiovascular causes by more than 2.5%
