Intravenous diuretic therapy
Intravenous loop diuretics act within minutes to shift fluid out of the lungs by a mechanism independent of the kidney. The diuretic effect is also beneficial but takes longer.
Typical doses are:
- frusemide 80 mg iv
- bumetanide 2 mg iv
