  • CXR: may show cardiac enlargement
  • ECG: AF, LVH
  • echocardiography: may show enlargement of left atrium and left ventricle, and an abnormal valve. Doppler studies may be useful in assessment of severity of flow disturbance
  • cardiac catheterization: quantitates the gradient across the valve
