The symptoms of multiple small pulmonary emboli include:

  • symptoms of pulmonary hypertension:
    • chest pain
    • exertional dyspnoea
    • syncope
    • fatigue
  • haemoptysis
  • pleuritic chest pain

The signs of multiple small pulmonary emboli include:

  • raised JVP
  • parasternal heave
  • loud P2
  • ECG changes of pulmonary embolism

Angina may reflect a critically limited cardiac output.
