Pulsed doppler
- assessment of velocities of blood at one site (uses a 'sample volume at the desired depth along the cursor line superimposed on a 2-dimensional display of the heart).
- useful for measuring normal (approx. 1m/s) and relatively low flow velocities (up to 2m/s).
- cannot record high velocities.
