Antimalarials
Antimalarial drugs are used either for prophylaxis or treatment of malaria.
Prophylactic agents:
- chloroquine
- mefloquine
- proguanil
- pyrimethamine with dapsone (Maloprim)
Treatment of malaria:
- quinine
- chloroquine (not for falciparum malaria)
- mefloquine
- primaquine
- pyrimethamine with sulfadoxine (Fansidar)
