Drug-induced facial flushing

Drug-induced causes include:

  • morphine
  • sodium monoglutamate
  • nitrates
  • calcium channel blockers
  • TRH injection
  • nicotinic acid
  • alcohol may cause flushing:
    • in some diabetics taking chlorpropamide
    • with disulfiram
    • procarbazine, oral ketoconazole, and has been reported, in one patient taking griseofulvin.
