Erythroderma
This describes a generalised redness of the skin affecting more than 90% of the body surface area.
Causes of erythroderma include:
- psoriasis
- eczema
- urticaria
Complications include:
- high output cardiac failure.
- hypoalbuminaemia - protein loss from gut and skin.
- impaired thermoregulation.
- skin infection
